Rajdhani Express trains were introduced in the year 1969 for providing high-speed connections up to 140 kilometers speed from New Delhi to the various state capital cities of India. The speed varies depending upon the particular track section.

Bhubaneswar to New Delhi Rajdhani Express (Via Adra Junction route) runs on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday & on its journey from New Delhi to Bhubaneswar it runs on Monday, Friday and Sunday. It halts at Cuttack, Bhadrakh, Balasore, Kharagpur, Bankura, Adra Junction, Koderma, Gaya, Mughal sarai, Kanpur stations in the course of its journey from both ends.
