Cancellation of tatkal e-ticket

An e-ticket is booked online by the passenger and then the ticket can be printed from any computer / printer available. Tatkal-e-ticket can be booked anytime two days in advance of scheduled journey date till the preparation of charts which is generally 2 to 3 hours before scheduled departure of train

A general quota Tatkal e-ticket booked online can be cancelled online only at the e-ticket booking website of IRCTC / associate website.

Cancellation charges for confirmed tatkal e-ticket

  • In case the confirmed e-ticket has been booked in the tatkal quota then a total flat refund of 25% of the ticket amount is returned excluding the tatkal charges if the e-ticket is cancelled up to 24 hrs before scheduled departure time of train.
  • If the e-ticket is cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled train departure, no refund is made on the cancellation of a confirmed tatkal e-ticket

Cancellation charges for waitlisted Tatkal e-ticket

If the ticket is left in the waitlist the cancellation charges will be deducted as per existing Railway rules for all waitlisted tickets.
