The Golden temple is also known as Harmandir Sahib, which means “the Temple of God”.
Next moving to Jalianwallah Bagh a historical monument that tells the sad story of mass killing during the independence movement in India, Jalianwallah Bagh is another must visit in Amritsar. Visit to India Pakistan Wagah border after Lunch
The Wagah Border flag ceremony is a popular tourist attraction and side trip from Amritsar, in Punjab India. The ceremony lasts for around 45 minutes in total. It starts with high patriotic spirits from both sides of the border. Soldiers march towards the gate at the border, which is thrown open when they reach there. The soldiers salute each other other and start lowering the flags.
The flags of both India and Pakistan are lowered at the same time. The soldiers retrieve and fold the flags, the gate slams shut, and a trumpet sounds the end of the ceremony. The soldiers then return with their country’s respective flag. Overnight stay at hotel
Visit to Durgiana Mandir
Amritsar also houses a wonderful temple dedicated to the Hindu goddess Durga. Easily accessible from the Golden Temple, the Durgiana Mandir also has deities of Lakshmi and Narayana. Supposedly built during the 16th century AD, the temple lies in the middle of a medium sized lake giving it a wonderful overall view. The temple, a massive structure, was built on the style of the nearby Golden Temple.
